It looks like the Obama administration will be moving forward with the Bio-fuel Pledge which will provide the industry with 510 Million dollars in funds for the development of "drop in" Bio-fuels for Aircraft, Ships, and ground transportation over the next 3 years. Let's hope that this can create more jobs that are needed. On another note, Euro companies are doing extremely well with regards to the Airbus company. With so many orders on the table for Airbus over the past 6 months the now #1 aircraft maker is overwhelmed with their own success with their own A320 model. This transition has even propelled Boeing to Re-Engine their 737 fleet to make the aircraft more economically sound. It seems in the news lately there has been reports of yet another alternative for producing Jet fuel, which is a very promising indication of the near future benefits of air travel. It has been noted that a Bio-fuel company based in California has conjoined with Rentech a company based out of Ontario Canada will be opening a plant to produce Jet fuel extracted from wood waste and alternative tree species that are not used commercially by 2015. Lets give a hand to everyone involved in this technology, as for the past month and a half we have been hearing good news in regards to the Aerospace industry and how it has made strides to producing a cheaper, cleaner burning fuel. 4.25.2011 United States gets traveler Booost! According to the U.S. Commerce Department the U.S has seen almost a 3% jump in foreign visitors that travel Internationally. This gives U.S a small economical boost as it shows that these visitors spend roughly 10% more money while traveling to the U.S. The 3 top ports reported Miami, New York's Kennedy International, and our very own Los Angeles Airport. These three ports accommodated for 40% of all overseas arrivals. 4.11.2011 The Jatropha Plant, the next sorce of Aviation Fuel? It seems that we may have a new Aviation fuel in the works. Jatropha is a non edible plant that is cultivated in India. The science in testing this bio-fuel according to Yale University, "Jatropha has produced results of 60% cleaner greenhouse gas emissions, Jatropha can deliver strong environmental and socioeconomic benefits.”". Many Aviation businesses have had trial runs using this fuel such as Japan Airlines, Air New Zealand, and Continental without any discrepancies. 3.30.2011 Do you have an AOG?
